Time is already running out for day laborers and immigrant workers
NICE is calling on city and state officials to provide immigrant workers with food and rent vouchers, regardless of their immigration status.
As a result of their immigration status, many of these workers do not have access to paid sick leave, unemployment insurance, or other social safety net programs. Without work, immigrant workers fear running out of their little savings and go without food or shelter.
